No. This workflow uses the same wall and masonry-unit measurements to calculate mortar, cement and sand.

Can I use blocks instead of bricks?

Calculation formula

1. Each wall is calculated from its own length, height and thickness.
2. Opening volume and only the wall-intersecting part of each attached pillar or beam are deducted from that wall.
3. Brick count = net wall volume ÷ effective unit volume including joints.
4. Wet mortar = wall volume − solid masonry-unit volume.
5. Dry mortar is split into cement and sand using the entered ratio.

Calculation assumptions

• 1 wall are measured separately; no opening or thickness is repeated onto another wall.
• Openings remove 0 m³ and attached structural intersections remove 0 m³ from brickwork.
• Opening jambs, heads and selected sills add 0 m² when the same geometry is used for plaster or finishes.
• The entered brick dimensions and 10 mm joint determine both unit count and mortar volume.
• Mortar uses a 1:6 cement:sand ratio and 1.33 dry-volume factor.
• M20, M25 and M30 identify concrete strength grades, not one universal design-mix ratio; approved per-m³ quantities are scaled when supplied.
