Your saved workspace lives in the browser or app on the device you are using. Export a backup after important changes and before clearing browser data, replacing a device or moving your work elsewhere.

The application offers different ways to share different things. A whole-workspace backup, a single layout or estimate link, and a quick calculation link have different purposes. Choose the smallest one that contains what the other person needs.

Export a workspace backup

Open your workspace, then Settings → Backup & transfer. The saved-workspace summary shows the records available on this device. Choose Export and save the resulting JSON file somewhere you can find again.

The backup includes the supported workspace records and preferences, including saved layouts, estimates, materials, rate defaults and Advanced BOQ data where present. It is a snapshot at the time of export. Later edits need another export if you want them in the backup.

Use a filename or folder that makes the date clear. For example, keep an October backup after measuring and another after accepting the final quotes. Do not edit the JSON by hand unless you understand the record format; the import screen checks whether the file can be read.

Transfer work to another browser or device

First export from the device that has the work. Open the application on the destination device, go to Settings → Backup & transfer and choose Import. Select the JSON file, then read the import preview before confirming anything.

Check the counts and conflicts shown for the incoming layouts, estimates, materials and any other included records. A familiar file name does not guarantee it contains the latest work. If the destination already has useful records, export those first as well.

Merge with the current workspace

Merge is useful when you want to add incoming work while keeping existing records. Read the conflict summary: it explains which records are new and how existing identities are handled. Review the available preference choices rather than assuming every setting will be replaced.

The merge flow preserves existing saved rates when combining incoming rate defaults. If the two workspaces use different quotes, open the relevant calculator afterward and check which rates you want to use for your next calculation.

Replace the current workspace

Replacement makes the active workspace match the incoming snapshot, including its supported libraries, Advanced BOQ data, saved rates and preferences. It requires a separate confirmation in the import review.

Use replacement only after checking that the snapshot is the one you intend to restore. Export the current workspace first so you have a way to recover records absent from the incoming file. Confirming a replacement is different from merely opening an import preview.

Share one layout or estimate

Use the Share action available for the saved record when someone needs one layout or estimate rather than your entire workspace. The link contains a snapshot. Future changes on your device do not silently update what was already shared.

An estimate snapshot includes the layout revision used for that result. This allows the recipient to understand the measurements behind the saved quantities even if the reusable source layout has since changed.

Anyone who has a usable share link can read the information encoded in it. Review names, measurements, notes and prices before sending it. Use a file export instead if a link cannot be created or is impractical for your messaging app.

Share the whole workspace by link

Settings → Backup & transfer also offers Copy Link. This creates a compressed workspace snapshot on your device. The result can be read and imported by someone with the link.

Use it only when the recipient needs the included workspace. A link containing the entire library can reveal more layouts, estimates and prices than a single-record link. It is not a live shared folder, an account login or a promise of automatic synchronisation.

Keep a file backup as well. Messaging services can limit long links, and copying a link does not guarantee that every recipient will be able to open it in the same app.

Understand calculator links and material parchis

Quick calculators offer a calculation link and material parchi for their current inputs and result. Use these to discuss quantities or costs without creating a saved estimate. They do not back up your layout or estimate libraries.

Preview the parchi in the selected language before sharing. It describes the current scope and any entered costs; it is not a dealer quotation or an instruction to purchase without checking the measurements and specifications. Read the quick calculator guide for the rate and sharing controls.

Restore preferences without deleting saved work

Settings → Reset & clear separates restoring preferences from clearing data. Restore preferences returns the application settings to their defaults and keeps saved layouts and estimates. Clearing all data is a different, destructive action with its own confirmation.

Before clearing anything, export and check your backup. If records appear missing after switching browsers or devices, return to the original place where you saved them and export there. Opening a fresh workspace does not automatically import data from another browser.

Make a simple backup habit

Save the layout after measuring, save an estimate after checking its rates, and export after a meaningful batch of changes. Keep the latest backup and one earlier copy until you have checked the new one on the destination device. This gives you a practical recovery path while keeping each estimate tied to the measurements and quotes it actually used.
